Sketch a Plant Sunday: Art of Nancy Asbell

Is it Sunday already? I still have some work to do before posting my dracaena drawing, but in the meantime I'll share some of the wonderful landscape paintings by my mother, Nancy Asbell. In case you were wondering, she's recovering nicely thanks to your prayers and kind thoughts. Oh, and there's a McLinky tool at the bottom of the post so you can share your own garden sketches, doodles and art! For the love of God, please don't be shy this time.

If you would like to see more of my mother's artwork, you can purchase prints or originals on her portfolio at Fine Art America. Obviously these are more than mere sketches, but I felt compelled to share them so you could see her interpretation of the subject matter. I might be biased, but I think that she has an innate understanding of the workings of color and light... but again, I might be biased. Her optimistic views and warm spirit shine through in every single painting.

Don't forget to share some doodles, sketches, drawings and paintings on your own blogs! Simply provide a link to this site and paste your own blog post's link below, using the McLinky.

  4. Unfortunately not as often. I showed her your mom's work because she is also interested in art. I hope your mom's work inspires her to go back to painting. Right now she does more Japanese influenced stuff like anime and chibii.
