Book Illustration
Book deal or no book deal, it's never too soon to consider illustrations for your soon-to-be-published book. I work in a variety of styles and can do anything from instructional black-and-white line art to meticulously rendered color artwork. Oh, and magazine illustrations? I'll do those too.

Commissioned Blogger Portraits
Whether you're camera-shy or just plain expressive, hand-drawn blogger portraits are stylish alternatives to boring photos that can be tailored to fit your blog's color scheme, branding and personality. I can create playful cartoon-style portraits as well as realistic ones, using anything from colored pencil to vector graphics.

Packaging, Shirts and Promotional Materials
If it can be printed upon, I'll create the artwork. I illustrate labels, packaging, menus, t-shirts, tags, brochures, posters, postcards and whatever else you dream up. I can create vector logos for your business as well as painstakingly drawn artwork with rich textures and details.

Writing and Blogging

I must be the luckiest guy on earth because along with illustration, writing makes up the bulk of my income. Since starting this blog in 2009, I have written for the Christian Science Monitor, Houzz and About.com, as well as several ghostwriting contracts for high-profile retailers.

My book Plant by Numbers has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Parade and the Orange County Register.

I write about a wide range of gardening topics, but specialize in writing about container gardening, gardening in the Southeast, human interest pieces and instructional content.
