Pour onto turmeric leaf face covering just one half length, leaving gap at edge too. Now add coriander, or a good aromatic of your choice, I suppose. Also add jaggery or coconut sugar granules, and some shredded coconut, or bits of papaya. Then fold leaf over on itself. And stack in steamer. When summer rains are heavy leaf production is best.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08539666895291868057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288778153586473465.post-27808870181250188222016-08-25T05:53:17.155-04:002016-08-25T05:53:17.155-04:00Hey Bud!

Both dried and fresh turmeric are great for you and provide a wide range of health benefits.

Having a peppery, warm and bitter flavor, the mild fragrance of turmeric resembles orange and ginger, which has made it a national favorite in curry dishes for centuries. Today, it is widely used in yellow mustard and as a natural health supplement.

Turmeric comes from the rhizome (rootstock) of the Curcuma longa plant. To manufacture it, the roots of the plant are boiled, dried and then ground into a powder. Traditionally used in Chinese and Indian folk medicine, turmeric benefits are amazing and able to treat a wide range of illness.

Thanks for sharing your precious knowledge with us!

Warm Regards
Ellen B MossEllen B. The article mentioned digging up in the fall for zones 7 and north, but what do I do with mine in Zone 9? When is the best time to dig it up for harvesting/replanting? Will the leaves still die back? Must I harvest it all once a year, or is there a way to just dig up and use chunks as needed for cooking? carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03654855077793430339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288778153586473465.post-3195093126037487912016-06-21T07:36:41.479-04:002016-06-21T07:36:41.479-04:00why so many bad tempered people around?why so many bad tempered people around?rjmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18419865533886510494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4288778153586473465.post-8692410299217677492016-06-02T22:07:26.562-04:002016-06-02T22:07:26.562-04:00I have a gorgeous plant in the bank yard and I hea...I have a gorgeous plant in the bank yard and I heard it might be white turmeric and edible. My only cautionary tale relates to your stating "Think of it as Motrin, but with none of the harmful side effects." I fear this statement could be misread by some who should not use tumeric for any reason. I would strongly suggest folks discuss its use with a health care professional first. Not only can tumeric thin the blood (to the point where surgeons advise not eating it 2 weeks prior to surgery), it can interfere with diabetics' blood sugar and a host of other side effects that are best discussed with a medical professional. I am not hoping to detract from your post or the wonderful things about tumeric, just saying that telling people there are no side effects could mislead them in to needlessly injuring themselves. My impression of Qatar is that it's very sandy which would make holding moisture difficult. But there are always pots!
